Description

There are a surprising number of natural rock arches in our area, including the Rock of Ages Arch, the Natural Arch near Gates and the Ed's Trail Arch near Silver Star. The largest arch in our region may be this arch near Catherine Creek.

This is a true arch with freestanding rock, but it's unfortunately close to the cliff, so it's not as obvious as it might be. There's a very steep, rocky trail through the arch. If you choose to take this path I recommend hiking up. This is rattlesnake country and a brief out of control sprint or fall, might get you a little close to one of the buggers.
