Description

Deadwood Camp is a nondescript campsite on the Gorton Creek Trail, 0.8 miles past (southeast) the Ridge Cutoff junction. There is a flat area for a couple tents and a fire ring. There are no views, but you could always walk back to Indian Point if you wanted a view.

There is a year-round stream running next to the camp. Trail #422 goes from here South up to the Nick Eaton Trail.

One thing good about this camp is that it is sheltered. When there is a strong east wind at Indian Point, it is almost calm here. This makes it a good winter backpack camp. The picture shows the bit of dappled sun that is as much as this site gets in the winter.
