Deschutes Cattle Corral

From Portland Hikers Field Guide

Description

10 miles from Macks Canyon Trailhead is a decrepit cattle corral.

There aren't many campsites on the south end of the Deschutes River Trail, but this is one possible spot. There is a flat area right next to the trail you could put a couple tents. There are a couple similar areas nearby. There's also a stream that crosses the trail that might be better drinking water than the river.

Being right next to the trail, this wouldn't be a very good campsite, except that there are so few people this far away from the trailhead.
