Description

This is the first junction on Eagle Creek Trail, 5.1 miles from the trailhead. Eagle-Benson Trail #434, heads uphill here towards Benson Plateau and the Pacific Crest Trail. The first few feet of the trail look pretty treacherous and it's not rumored to get better. A long loop or traverse is possible by hiking Eagle Creek Trail to here, Eagle-Benson Trail to the Plateau and the Pacific Crest Trail northward to Cascade Locks. Hikers can return on Gorge Trail #400 or catch a previously arranged ride home.
