Driving Directions
To get to the Elk Creek Trailhead, take Oregon Highway 6 between Portland and Tillamook.
Elk Creek Trailhead is at milepost 28 (28 miles from Tillamook and 48 miles from the intersection of highway 6 and highway 26). There is a sign on highway 6 to Elk Creek Campground. There is a 0.3 mile road to the campground and trailhead. The trailhead is a short distance past the campground.
Elk Creek Campground is a nice campground if you're looking for that. There are 15 campsites up to 100 yards from the parking area. Some sites are right next to the Wilson River and Elk Creek. There is a nice outhouse. There are trees with some clearings providing sunlight even in the winter.
In the winter, there is a gate at highway 6, with a parking area there, so you have to walk an additional 0.3 miles.
