Description

This a pretty little place on the shore of Gorton Creek. The Gorge Trail slabs down ridge sides on both sides of the creek to a rustic bridge. Every bridge has its day and this one, while still beautiful, is looking pretty tired. The bridge is being replaced by a new bridge of similar construction in 2007. The current bridge is closed, but the creek was easy to rock hop in June. (observed 2007-6-5)

The Wyeth trail enters the scene from the north on an old, abandoned road. While the road continues further upstream, the Wyeth Trail follows the Gorge Trail up the hill to the east, toward the Harphan Creek Ford. The abandoned road continues south toward Emerald Falls.
