Hike Description

This is a pleasant hike to a couple of interesting geologic formations.

Start at the Herman Creek Trailhead. Hike up the Herman Creek Trail about 0.6 miles, under a powerline to a junction with the Herman Bridge Trail. Turn right and head down to the Herman Creek Bridge, a large steel truss bridge. From here, the trail climbs, sometimes steeply to the Pacific Crest Trail. Going uphill from here on the Crest Trail is a challenging ordeal, but you have it lucky. You'll be heading the other way.

Turn right on the Crest Trail and head gradually downhill. You'll come to Pacific Crest Falls in about a quarter mile and a second quarter-mile will bring you to the Herman Creek Pinnacles. The pinnacles are interesting to look at, but dangerous to climb. When you're ready, you can head back the way you came.
