Description

Hood River Meadows is near the source of the East Fork Hood River, and though surrounded by ski development, retains a large degree of its natural character. The meadows are located on an abandoned segment of the Mount Hood Loop Highway, and an abandoned campground is located in the forest to the east of the meadows. The Umbrella Falls Loop Hike trail crosses the old highway segment where it passes within view of the meadows, and thus can be used as an alternate trailhead.
