A Northwest Forest Pass is required here. It can be purchased at the Opal Creek Trailhead

Driving Directions

From I-5, take Salem exit 253 onto Highway 22 east. Go 25 miles and turn left onto the North Fork Rd (flashing light across from the Swiss Village restaurant). Travel 14 miles on the North Fork road, and take a right on Elkhorn Rd SE. Go over the bridge and in 1/4 mile find the trailhead parking area on the left.

Other Notes

The route to this trailhead is paved until the final turn onto Elkhorn Road SE. The trailhead should be accessible year round except after heavy winter storms.
