Description

In a way, this trail junction is meeting of eras, as well as trails. The Old Holgate Trail is a remnant of a former road that once ran through the area, long before the city or the park were formed. It hosted belching early cars, as well as horse drawn wagons in its day. The Mountain View trail, on the other hand, is a product of our more modern responsible culture, a paved universal access trail providing a route to the top of Powell Butte, for all hikers, no matter what the condition of their legs.
