Fees and Regulations

  • A NW Forest Pass is required to park here.
  • A Wilderness permit is required to hike in the area. They are available free at the trailhead.

Driving Directions

From I-5 near Albany, take Highway 20 heading east, towards Sweet Home. Find the trailhead 20 miles east of Sweet Home on the left, across from the entrance to the Trout Creek Campground.

Other Notes

This is also the parking area for the Walton Ranch Trail. This trail provides a short climb up handicap accessible switchbacks to a platform deck with views across the highway into a large meadow frequented by elks(see picture above). There is a nice creekside picnic bench about 50 yards up trail.
